Occupy World Street is a vision for co-creating a new future and pointing the arrow of our collective efforts in a new direction. Hopefully, this site will become a meeting place for all those who wish to discuss the issue of how we can change the ruinous course that our global civilization is following.

In my book I try to do three things:

•    Identify the causes of the crisis and the barriers that are preventing real solutions from emerging
•    Design a concrete new sustainable and just world order with new institutions and a new kind of economics that will work for the 99% and not just for the 1%. The major instrument to achieve this I call the Gaian League.
•    Propose a concrete strategy to get us from here to there—the Breakaway Strategy, which requires that street demonstrators support a group of small nations that launch an embryonic prototype of the Gaian World Order and then invite other nations to join.

The framework presented in the book is concrete without being cast in stone. So there is plenty of room for improvement. Help to fill in the spaces.

Please consider contributing your ideas in the forum and in comments to blogs and articles; establish local groups to discuss the issues; and continue to work for positive change wherever you are. Only if thousands of people join in and back up the suggested plan can it be brought to fruition. If this support materializes all across the world, the momentum may well be unstoppable. Perhaps the Breakaway Strategy is an idea whose time has come. As Hazel Henderson writes:

The Breakaway Strategy has the potential to unite hundreds of NGOs and millions of ordinary citizens in the streets behind a single simple proposal that could change the current dysfunctional game.

The book will be officially published simultaneously in the USA (Chelsea Green) and the UK (Green Books) on March 22, 2012.
